Ghazal - An important form of poetic expression:

Pakistan is a place which is blessed with lots of skillful poetry writers who are dedicated for their country and spent whole time for poetry writing. Pakistani poets will write their poetries in Urdu language as Urdu is the national language of Pakistan. Maulana Altaf Husain Hali was one of the most famous Pakistani poetry writers who got lots of honors world wide. ‘Naat’ was one of the master piece of Maulana Altaf Husain Hali which was a poem written for praising the holy Prophet. Ghazal is an important form of poetry which has gained worldwide popularity. 

Actually Ghazal is a seldom which have a length of more than twelve couplets. Normally the average length of a Ghazal should be seven couplets. In Ghazal the opening couplet is in the form of a rhyming couplet and the rhyme of the opening couplet will be repeated in the second line of each succeeding couplets. Ghazal is a group of couplets and couplets means shers or ashaar. The couplets in a Ghazal will follow the rules of ‘Qafiya’, ‘Maqta’, ‘Bahar’, ‘Matla’, and ‘Radeef’.

These rules will make the Ghazal attractive and a perfect one. All couplets in a Ghazal should be of the same Bahar and all the couplets should end in the same words and this will comes in the Radeef rule. Lots of Hindi poets are also famous about their Ghazals as Ghazals are very much popular in India too. Ghazal has become one of the important forms of Indian poetry because of its huge influence on Indian audience.
